Project Overview

This project was bid and awarded to deliver the construction of a new 8-million-gallon sludge and equalization (EQ) storage basin facility for the Linda County Water District in California. The work involved detailed planning, cost development, subcontractor pricing evaluations, and management of the construction activities to meet quality, operational, and regulatory requirements. The concrete-lined basin measured 495 ft x 285 ft x 12 ft deep, supported by a 42 ft x 17 ft x 16 ft deep decant structure, completed through sequenced construction phases. Key scope elements included 45,000 cubic yards of earthwork, installation of approximately 249 tons of reinforcing steel, and placement of 5,015 cubic yards of 4,000-psi concrete. Due to temperature limitations, most concrete pours were scheduled at night to ensure quality and performance. The project also included installation of sludge, decant, raw sewage, and water piping, along with construction of an access road to support dry sludge disposal. The upgraded facility now enhances treatment capacity and supports future community growth needs.
